CAMPS & CLINICS

We’re excited to announce our May Volleyball Camp, which will be open to both experienced players and beginners! This camp is designed to help athletes of all skill levels improve their technique, enhance their understanding of the game, and have fun while learning new skills.

Camp Details:

  • Dates: Wednesdays in May. May 7, 14, 21, 28

  • Times: 6-8pm

  • Location: GCA Sports Complex

  • Age Group: 3rd- 12th grade

  • Skill Levels: The camp will be split into groups based on experience:

    • Beginner: For players who are new to volleyball or have limited experience.

    • Experienced: For players who have a solid foundation and are looking to refine their skills or have been to an XZone program before.

**adjustments may be made to groups based on prior knowledge of players by our volleyball coordinator

 

Camp Highlights:

  • Skill Development: Focus on fundamentals like serving, passing, setting, and attacking.

  • Team Play: Introduction to team strategies and game situations for beginners, and advanced tactics for experienced players.

  • Coaching: Led by experienced coaches who will provide personalized instruction to help each player improve.

  • Fun and Engaging: Lots of drills, games, and challenges to keep the players engaged and excited about the sport.

Whether your child is just starting out or already has experience on the court, this camp will be a great opportunity for them to develop their skills and gain confidence in their play.

Welcome to our 4-Day Beginner Volleyball Camp, designed for players new to the sport or those looking to strengthen their foundational skills. Whether you’ve just picked up a volleyball or want to improve your basics, this camp offers a fun and supportive environment to build confidence and develop essential volleyball techniques.

What You’ll Learn:

This camp is focused on helping players master the basic skills needed to play volleyball while having fun and building a love for the game. Each day will focus on specific fundamental skills, helping you grow your understanding and ability in the sport.

 

- Day 1: Introduction to Volleyball & Basic Techniques

  - Focus: Basic rules, court positioning, and understanding the fundamentals of volleyball.

  - Key Skills: Passing (forearm passing), serving (underhand and overhand), basic court movement.

  - Drills: Passing with partners, simple serve-receive drills, movement drills.

 

- Day 2: Serving & Passing

  - Focus: Serving techniques and improving passing accuracy.

  - Key Skills: Consistent serving, forearm passing, positioning, communication on the court.

  - Drills: Serve and receive practice, passing accuracy drills, partner work to focus on technique.

 

- Day 3: Setting & Attacking

  - Focus: Introduction to setting and basic attacking techniques.

  - Key Skills: Setting the ball, hitting (basic spiking technique), and timing.

  - Drills: Setting accuracy, hitting technique for beginners, positioning for effective offense.

 

- Day 4: Defense & Teamwork

  - Focus: Basic defensive techniques and understanding team dynamics.

  - Key Skills: Digging, blocking (basic), court awareness, communication.

  - Drills: Digging low passes, team defense exercises, positioning for effective defense, working as a unit.

 

Camp Highlights:

- Beginner-Friendly: Tailored for first-time players or those with minimal experience.

Join us for a three-day Volleyball Positions Camp designed to enhance your skills and knowledge of specific positions on the court. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, this camp will provide in-depth training for each position, focusing on fundamental skills, advanced techniques, and strategic understanding to help you excel.

What You’ll Learn: Each day of the camp is dedicated to mastering the core skills for one key position, with specific drills and strategies to help you improve your game.

  • Day 1: Hitter

    • Focus: Attacking, passing, defense, and communication

    • Key Skills: Footwork, approach timing, positioning, and spiking

    • Drills: Passing accuracy, attacking from different angles, transitioning between offense and defense

  • Day 2: Setter

    • Focus: Decision-making, setting accuracy, leadership, and court awareness

    • Key Skills: Quick decision-making, setting in various situations, creating offensive plays

    • Drills: Setting targets, timing with hitters, reading the defense, effective communication with teammates

  • Day 3: Libero/Defensive Specialist

    • Focus: Passing, receiving serves, digging, and team defense

    • Key Skills: Quick reflexes, court coverage, passing accuracy, and serve receive techniques

    • Drills: Digging techniques, serve receive patterns, defensive positioning, floor movement

Camp Highlights:

  • Position-Specific Drills: Focused training to develop position-based skills.

  • Experienced Coaches: Learn from experienced coaches and players who specialize in each position.
